If you’ve spent any time on Main Street in Venice, you know the building I’m talking about—the one with the 30‑foot ballerina clown perched above the CVS, kicking a leg over Rose Avenue.   This mixed‑use complex, known as Venice Renaissance, was completed in 1989 and designed by Johannes Van Tilburg & Partners.  It’s a four‑story development with just 66 residences; inside you’ll find step‑down living rooms, vaulted ceilings, and lofted spaces, plus amenities like a grassy courtyard, sun deck, pool and spa.

I remember when the complex was under construction back in high school. That clown sculpture—officially called Clownerina—caused plenty of head‑turns then, and it still does now.  Those with a clown phobia best choose another street.

Coastal Homes LA had the privilege of representing a longtime owner in the building this summer. After more than two decades in residence, our seller needed to move quickly. We rolled up our sleeves, coordinated a deep clean, gave the interior and original kitchen cabinets a fresh coat of paint, updated hardware to add a pop of style, and brought in our favorite stagers to play up the building’s coastal vibe. With an expertly shot photo portfolio and a targeted digital campaign, we racked up more than 60,000 online views in just one week. The result? We found the buyer in eight days and closed escrow in thirty.

If you’re thinking about selling and want to discuss how to maximize your home’s value—whether it’s in a quirky mixed‑use icon or a seaside bungalow—let’s talk. Our team is driven by experience, creative marketing, and a willingness to tell it like it is. Drop me a line anytime and we’ll set up a consultation that works around your schedule.
